Character: MEL, female, 22.
MEL: Do you ever catch yourself going along, doing nothing out of the ordinary, when it's suddenly like you're trapped in someone else's body, like these hands aren't your hands, and how strange it is that you're seeing out of these eyes, and you think, how odd, that I'm me... that in this weird accident of birth, I was put in this body. For a moment, it's as if you're coming out of a dream, but still caught in it, and it's terrifying that you'll never completely wake from it. You're trapped, and you can't move, and you can't understand how you got here. You want to scream, but this voice isn't your voice, and you want to run, but these aren't your legs -- and, anyway, if you were to run, where would you go? You wait for the dream to dissolve, but it doesn't. And, just as suddenly, you realize: no, this is real. This is never going to end.
