Synopsis:
Four
women, living in post-grunge, pre-boy-band revival New Jersey, are on a quest
for happiness. Linda has been in graduate school for umpteen years and has a
dissertation that is one-sentence long. Her sister Maureen is a substitute
teacher with an addiction to heroin and an abusive boyfriend. Betsy celebrates
her impending 30th birthday by getting her freak on with a would-be
meteorologist
and her own brother, while her friend Pam, who wants everything to be normal,
faces her own mortality at work.
